It will definitely be a VERY GOOD Thanksgiving.

Katie (JDF), my youngest, had a breast biopsy earlier this week (two weeks of mammograms, sonograms & other tests first - very, very nerve wracking!!!!!) & the results were back yesterday. The "mass" is non-malignant. I am overjoyed!!!!!

I had no idea what JDF and your family was going through with that. Good to hear that's it was good news about it.

I let a few people know...but to be honest, I really didn't feel it was that big of a deal. The nodule was very small, and if it had been malignant, it would have been so early that prognosis would have been very good. More of a hassle than anything.

But thanks for the good thoughts guys. I'll need them again in 6 months when I go in for a follow up to make sure they were right.

JDF - It may have been "no big deal" to you BUT it was to your dad & me.
Every parent wants to be able to help their kids out from time to time. With this there was absolutely nothing we could do. We were helpless to do anything plus the fact that you have two wonderful kids did not help the matter at all.
Just about the biggest fear in my life is CANCER. It terrifies me & the thought that you might have had it scares the bejesus out of me. The relief I felt on Wendesday was something that I can't even describe.

I know/knew you were worried. I can't understand why JDF wasn't.
Chemo may not seem like a "big deal" to her but it is! It can be devestating. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

It is not a matter of not having been worried. it is a matter of knowing that I cannot change it with all the worry in the world. And knowing that especially in the case of cancer, positive attitude goes almost as far as modern medicine when it comes to dealing with it.

So, like a friend of mine who battled it told me...I wasn't going to let IT own ME.
